Introduction

Over the years I have acquired many skills in a variety of different applications, all of which have been self taught, here are the main ones with examples.

Adobe Photoshop

I am fully proficient with layers and blending modes as well as masking objects to place them against different backdrops. I am also adept at optimizing graphics for use on the web and for print (300dpi CMYK). All the graphics on this website were created in Photoshop.

Adobe Encore

Using this software I can create customized DVD menus with chapter points, scene selections and button routing Using PS CS3 initially to create the menu, I can then import it into encore with the relevant video files to produce the final project.

Adobe Captivate

This piece of software allows me to record the activity on a computer to aid a person in using a piece of software. The final projects are saved as SWF files which are then embedded into a webpage. I can also produce Quizzes with the software to aid in personal development.

Adobe After Effects

Still learning when it comes to using this software but after watching the Total Training videos, I have picked up a few tips including green screen chroma key and rotoscoping.

Adobe Flash

Once a video has been created, I can use Flash 9 to the convert it into Flash format (FLV) and embed this into a webpage so that it can be progressively streamed from the server. I can also create custom FLV playback skins in ActionScript 2.

Ulead Media Studio Pro and Adobe Premier Pro

I have been using this software for many years now and all the videos that I create are edited using this. I fully understand the different codecs and how to create video for web and for DVD authoring in the PAL format.

Dreamweaver

This is the most intuitive website editor that I’ve come across. Front page and Go Live don’t even come close. All the websites I create are designed using Dreamweaver and web languages that I have a good working knowledge of are:
